You don’t have to explain every detail.. or revisit the depths of your pain to heal from it.
EMDR works with how your brain stores memories by helping it reprocess past or recent experiences that are leaving your nervous system stuck or overwhelmed. Through guided bilateral stimulation, your mind naturally moves toward reprocessing and your past becomes something you can remember without being pulled back into it. Instead of staying caught in the same emotional loops, you'll begin to feel lighter, calmer, and more present in your life now.

My clients tend to begin noticing meaningful shifts right away, and lasting change as the process of EMDR unfolds over several weeks. They often describe feeling less activated by old memories and more grounded in their day to day. EMDR isn’t a quick fix, but over time clients often experience meaningful, week-by-week shifts in the issues they came in struggling with. As the emotional charge tied to past experiences begins to lessen, folks often notice more clarity and more spaciousness to be present for the things that matter. You can also expect to find a felt sense of returning to wholeness.
EMDR requires a meaningful investment of your time and consistency. Most clients meet for weekly 90-minute sessions, which allows enough time and space for us to move through the phases of EMDR safely and without rushing.
Healing, especially from trauma or chronic stress, occurs gradually. While many report noticing immediate change after beginning EMDR, you should still plan on committing to regular, ongoing sessions.
EMDR can be a powerful option for healing and for some who's tried talk therapy with little results, it can be a life-changing experience. It can also be a great choice if you're looking for a way to process past experiences and memories without retelling every detail. It’s a good fit if you're drawn to an approach that works with both the mind and the body, especially if traditional talk therapy hasn’t brought the depth of relief you hoped for.
But, it isn’t the right fit for every person at every moment. Some clients are ready to begin reprocessing right away, while others may need more time to build safety, stability, and grounding in the present before moving into deeper work. If it turns out that this isn’t the right time for EMDR, that’s completely okay. We'll focus on strengthening your resources, increasing your sense of safety in the present, and creating a foundation of support that will make EMDR a safe choice in the future.
With Telehealth, EMDR is available to you anywhere in California. You get to process in a space where your body feels more at ease (your couch, your bedroom, your quiet corner) without the stress of traveling to an office or unfamiliar environments.
While I am unable to take insurance at this time, my 90-minute EMDR sessions are offered at a cash pay rate of $100 to help keep healing within reach. I accept various electronic payment methods, and can provide you with a superbill for potential reimbursement (please check with your insurance provider to verify coverage).
Please know that I have a commitment to therapy being accessible to all and reserve space for a few sliding scale clients who have a financial need for a reduced rate. Please inquire for sliding scale rates and availability.
